About Myself

Nature is the inspiration for many of my pieces.  Precious Metal Clay (PMC) silversmith technique has opened up fresh and unique opportunities to incorporate nature into my jewelry designs.  It is exciting to take a real leaf, layer it with several coats of silver and have the end result be an extraordinary piece of jewelry, as shown in my “Verbena” and “Geranium” collections.

My “Sea Fan” and “Sea Coral” collections were created by using various corals that washed up on shore ~ creating a mold of that texture ~ again using Precious Metal Clay (PMC) to come up with a unique design.  All my jewelry is hand made using either Sterling Silver or Fine Silver.  I use natural stones or hand made lamp work beads made by various artists from around the country.  Many of my most recent creations are designed using fused Dichroic glass.

About My Jewelry

What is PMC (Precious Metal Clay) or Art Clay?

This clay is a new user-friendly silversmith technique that is not limited by traditional jewelry boundaries.

Metal Clay starts out in a clay form, made of microscopic particles of silver (or gold), water and organic binder. The clay is then molded, pressed or formed into your own unique design.

Depending on what clay type you use, after the design is created, it is either fired in a kiln or hand torched. This heating process then burns away the binder and water, leaving you with your design as a piece of fine silver (.999). The process of burning away the binder and water will also cause the silver piece you are working on to shrink anywhere form 10% to about 25% depending on what clay is used.

Beads used in my jewelry
I love finding unique and beautiful beads to use in my jewelry. I use many different kinds of beads to make jewelry that is attractive and one-of-a-kind.
